5 Common Running Injuries

As winter is winding down many are starting to get outdoor and enjoying the better weather! You may have even noticed how many more people are out cycling, walking and even running. Running happens to be an excellent form of exercise and many runners just love the feeling they get from running. Yet, sometimes too much of good can lead to injuries…

Here are the 5 common running injuries that most runners face.

1. Plantar Fasciitis

2. Achilles Tendonitis

3. Patellofemoral Knee Pain (Runner’s Knee)

4. IT Band Pain

5. Lower Back Pain

As you may be aware injuries are the last thing a runner wants to deal with. So what can be done to prevent them? One of the best preventive measures and simplest things to do is warm up. That’s right, take 10-15 minutes to stretch those gluts, leg and feet muscles. All to often the novice runner fails to do so. Initially a runner may get away with no injuries, but over time it will catch up with them.
